AFest wrapped up yesterday, and the convention itself was rather underwhelming again. There are a lot of issues they really, really need to fix. I've become very disenchanted with this convention, but I had a really good time this weekend with my wonderful friends.
This weekend didn't quite go as planned. I haven't been that unprepared for a convention in a while. I didn't do any repairs or touch ups to my other costumes as I should have in advance (or even look them over prior to pulling them out to pack them) because I was still trying to finish Zelda when there would have been time for that... So when I pulled out the costumes I wanted to bring I found out that they had problems. I decided to leave Claire behind despite the ease of the repairs, and I'm glad I did because Monday I was too busy to bother with cosplaying. Nayru needs a few fixes before she's fit for wear again.
I ended up wearing Promised Day Riza on Friday, Military Riza on Saturday, and ALttP Zelda on Sunday. ~TheHylianKing
took some photos of Promised Day Riza that I'm really excited about and can't wait to see!
I found out about a new convention happening here in the DFW area; Anime North Texas
will be held November 15-17 at the same hotel Yule Con 2 was at. I'm pretty excited, I always enjoyed the cooler weather of YuleCon. I'll be skipping Fan Days in favor of this one. I'm not sure if I'll go the whole weekend, but definitely for a day. There's a chance I may go to IkkiCon at the end of the year too!
Now that I'm back, I'm rather overwhelmed with the amount of things I have to work on. Claire doesn't need but a day's worth of work to get her back into shape, but Nayru, ugh. A couple of accessories were damaged while in storage, and need to be remade. I really want to have a trench coat done for Riza by Ikkicon if I'm able to go. The jacket for Riza needs to be refit, and now that I know how to do bias tape properly, of course I'm going to have to rip all the trim off and redo it. And there's still Zelda.
I haven't even touched Jarael or TP Zelda, both of which I wanted to start on before the end of the summer. Oi.
First and foremost though, I think I need to reorganize my room and sewing area. That's long overdue. But I think instead, I may just collapse into a heap instead of facing all of this. x___x
